Scholarship Winners NSS awarded four $2,000 educational scholarships this year to students studying sculpture in different institutions around the country. One was funded in the name of Roger T. Williams, FNSS who died in 1991; the other three were funded by a recent gift from the estate of Charlotte Geffken. As a result of the Geffken bequest, scholarship awards doubled from $1,000 last year. Scholarship applications are reviewed by the NSS Education Committee, which is comprised of professional sculptors. All scholarship moneys are awarded directly to the educational institution through which the student applies, to be credited towards that student's tuition. The educational institution the student attends must be an accredited American institution, in compliance with IRS regulations.
